Sharing this in our first Founders' note because it's a story we keep coming back to.

Over the past few years, we watched multiple companies we cared about hit the same wall, in different ways and in different industries. None of them were companies we worked for directly. We were tangentially connected to all of them, which is part of why this hit close to home. We were close enough to see what was happening, but not close enough to step in and change the outcome.

Looking back now, the issue wasn't that any of those companies had bad ideas. It was that none of them had the operational backbone to support the good ones.

Each of those companies hit the same crossroads at roughly the same time. They needed real investment in their business operations. They needed someone to own the people work, the processes, the financial visibility, the systems, and the digital presence. And in each case, leadership made one of two decisions. They concluded they could not afford a full-time hire to handle it, so they did nothing. Or they handed the responsibility to an existing employee who already had a different job.

The outcomes were strikingly similar.

The businesses that did nothing did not grow. Opportunities slipped past them because the foundation wasn't in place to support expansion. Their staff stayed exactly where they were, in roles that never evolved, because the company itself never evolved.

The businesses that loaded the work onto an existing employee did not fare much better. Those employees, no matter how capable or loyal, were set up to fail. They were given responsibilities they were not trained for, were not paid for, and did not have time for. Some of them burned out. Some of them left. None of them produced the kind of outcomes the business needed, because no one person can run their full job and also stand up a fractional HR or operations function on top of it.

Watching that pattern repeat was the catalyst for us.

Between our Management Team, we have spent more than fifty years working in Operations, IT, Finance, and HR for large enterprises with footprints both inside the United States and abroad. We have run global teams, navigated complex compliance environments, scaled functions through periods of rapid growth, and absorbed the lessons that only come with size. We're not under any illusion that everything we learned at scale translates cleanly to a thirty-person business. Plenty of it doesn't. But the core question of who owns the people work, the processes, the financial visibility, and the systems doesn't change just because the company is smaller. It just gets harder to answer.

That's the gap we built Anchor Point Operations to close.

We are not consultants who hand you a report and walk away. We are operators who roll up our sleeves and execute alongside our clients. We meet companies where they are, build the systems they need, train the people who will carry it forward, and stay long enough to make sure it sticks.

If you've ever looked at your own business and thought "we need this, but we cannot justify a full-time hire yet," that's exactly the gap we built APO to fill. And if any of those stories sounded familiar, we'd love to hear from you. Even if it's just to talk through what you're seeing. We learn as much from those conversations as anyone we meet through them.
